ACADEMIC CALENDAR

CSD Sahara Global Academy follows an academic calendar that stretches from April to March. The school has a five-days-a-week teaching schedule with the following timings :

SCHEDULE
Pre Primary (Nursery & KG) 08:30 hrs to 12:30 hrs
Primary (Standard I to V) 08:30 hrs to 14:30 hrs
(Fridays : 08:30 hrs to 13:30 hrs for Class I – III)
The school breaks for vacations, as follows:
Summer Break Last Saturday of May to First Sunday of July
Winter Break Last week of December to First week of January
Festival Break Depending upon the festival period
SCHOOL TRANSPORT

AVAILABILITY OF TRANSPORT FACILITY:

  • The transport will be available depending on the number of students from any particular area. In case the school transport is not available, the parents will have to make their own arrangements.
  • The transport fee is payable in advance.
  • Partial or one way usage of school transport is not allowed. One month’s notice to the transport incharge is required for withdrawal of transport facility.

VEHICLE ROUTES /STOPPAGE /TIMINGS:

  • The route is prepared keeping in view the convenience and safety of all vehicle commuters and is subject to change. No diversion/extension will be entertained on existing routes.
  • The drivers are authorized to stop vehicles at designated stops only, unless directed otherwise by the vehicle in-charge.
  • Regarding any change of vehicle stop, the guardian must intimate in writing to the transport in-charge one month in advance.
  • The students should reach the respective vehicle stops ten minutes before the stipulated time.
  • Vehicles will not wait for the latecomers.

UNIFORM

TIFFIN

  • Parents should ensure only healthy food is send in tiffin
  • Tiffin should be strictly vegetarian with chapatti
  • Tiffin should contain one fruit daily
  • Friday tiffin may be as per the taste of the child
  • Tiffin should be packed properly in a lunch box with a napkin and a spoon
  • Children are allowed to eat food only during fruit/tiffin break

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Children wishing to celebrate their birthday in school may on their birthday bring sweets, biscuits, seasonal fruits, toffees & chocolate for their classmates. They may also attend school in the dress they like.

HOUSE SYSTEM

The school has a house system to foster the spirit of teamwork, cooperation and healthy competition. We at CSD Sahara Global Academy place a high value on learning about the school ethos and the benefits of good behaviour.

There are five houses in school :
HOUSE COLOUR
Water -> Turquoise blue
Earth -> Brown with golden occur
Sky -> Dark orange with peach
Fire -> Red with deep yellow
Air -> Green

Every student from Class I on admission, is placed in one of the five houses. House meetings are held to organize and put into action various Inter House activities/events. Throughout the year, various House Competitions are held, in which points are awarded according to the performances.

At the end of the session, a rolling trophy is awarded to the House that scores the maximum points in House activities/competitions. There is a wonderful sense of camaraderie generated throughout the school with the House System.

GENERAL CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOR

  • Discarding trash or food either inside or outside the bus will not be allowed.
  • Unruly behaviour is strictly prohibited.
  • Students will be held responsible for any damages to vehicles caused by them and will be charged a fine accordingly.
  • Courteous behaviour is expected at all times.
  • The vehicle escorts will ensure discipline in the vehicle.

REQUEST TO THE PARENTS / GUARDIANS

  • Please inform the school immediately if there is any change in address, telephone numbers or the bus route.
  • Closely monitor your ward’s progress by checking the school almanac every day and paying attention to their punctuality, discipline and submission of school assignments.
  • Encourage your ward to take balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
  • Monitor the internet access of your ward and limit television viewing to appropriate programmes and duration.
  • Contact school to discuss and decide a plan of action to handle the problems (academic as well and behavioural) if any, of your ward.
  • Restrict pocket money to a minimal amount. Excessive spending in school should be discouraged.
  • Ensure that during the ward’s absence from school, works done in the classes are covered.
  • Please provide a supportive value-based environment to your ward at home.
    Take care of your ward’s mental health and emotions.
  • Ensure that your ward appears for all tests as per the schedule given in the Almanac. In case the child is unable to take the examination, prior intimation must be given to the Class Teacher in writing.
  • Discourage your ward from taking leave during the examination days.

LEAVE RULES

  • Leave has to be approved by the appropriate authority.
  • Parents should fill up the Leave Application given in the Almanac for each day the student is absent from school, stating the reason for absence or leave taken. A student who has been absent on the previous day, will not be allowed to join the school, without the aforesaid.
  • Repeated absence without approved leave or unexpected absence for more than ten consecutive days renders the student liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls. Re-admission may be granted only on payment of fresh admission fee, provided the vacancy still exists.
  • All children are expected to attend school on the opening day after every vacation. It is compulsory for students to complete 75% attendance in the year to make them eligible for the final assessments. In case attendance is short, the student will not be eligible for any academic prize/appreciation.
  • Students returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease must bring a fitness certificate from the doctor.
  • Students suffering from any one of the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to the school.
  • Quarantine and get fitness certificate from doctor.
